PowerSports Outlet (PSO) History

Where did we come from, and why are we here?

Encore Performance & Fabrication (now Powersports Outlet - PSO) could be most easily described as "Jim Knaup's illegitimate love child", as it is solely a product of his lust for Moto Guzzi Motorcycles. Jim first admitted to this uncontrollable passion about thirty years ago, but it took him a couple years to see it reach fruition. He eventually did buy the Moto Guzzi Motorcycle that had haunted his dreams, an act which prompted a snowballing acquisition frenzy, resulting in a garage overflowing with the endearing Italian vee twins.

Long hours were spent hunting for and restoring old "Round Head" machines, so much so, that his personal shop and stores were soon better equipped and more complete than the nearest Moto Guzzi Dealership. A boulder was trundeling that could not be stopped, and in August 1995 Jim bought that shop's entire Moto Guzzi interest... new parts, used parts, sign,... everything. At that point, Jim developed a strategy with Moto America (the U.S. Moto Guzzi Distributor) to see Encore Performance & Fabrication fulfill all requirements necessary to become a Fully Authorized Dealer. Those requirements were met, and in the spring of 1997, PSO recieved its first shipment of new Moto Guzzi Motorcycles.

PSO has evolved steadily over the past several years. We have moved multiple times to larger buildings to accomodate our growth. Our inventory has continued to grow as has our investment in quality diagnostic, fabrication, and service tools. Watch for continued growth, and come to PSO to experience the best in service.
